More Cool Drinking stuff
This piece was done for good friends of mine, Hawk and Pam Smith. The jug is Watusi Cow horn made by Tim Dowler of West Virginia.
Hawk and Pam purchased this jug at the F&I Grand Encampment. They chose the artwork from a few pieces I had on display and I chose a cup from the bunch that this type of artwork on it.

I chose the lyrics from an old Scottish drinking song.

This piece wasn't one I made. It being so large had areas that were soft and hard. Some sections are darker than others which means that you must go over the areas that are hard two or three times. I often do work on pieces that I do not make. Some work can be done but at times a piece is better suited for carving than scrimshaw. With most pieces I have to handle these to see if scrimshaw can be done. It is also best to scrimshaw a piece before any special work is done. The wire handle on the Whiskey jug is a great idea and makes the piece special, however the wire handle was hard to work with and made my work slow going. Please contact me if you have any questions about a piece or any problem attachments that might be attached to it.
